Afroganica returns to Miami Swim Week with a unique fashion experience celebrating swimwear and creativity in South Florida.

Miami Swim Week welcomed the return of Afroganica, a multi-day fashion experience produced by Metropolitan Couture Media Group (MCMG). The event brought together swimwear, intimatewear, live performances, editorial photo shoots, and creative networking across South Florida.

Afroganica Returns to Miami Swim Week With Style and Culture

Held from May 28 through June 1, 2026, Afroganica created a vibrant platform for small-market designer brands and diverse creatives. Participants came together to connect, collaborate, and build strong visual content during one of Miami’s most fashion-focused weeks.

The celebration began with the debut of Cabaret Swim Week at J’Adore Miami Beach, featuring intimatewear brands Chemistry and Embrace Me by Chasity. The evening blended fashion with performance, including a burlesque presentation by Seniorita Syn and live vocals from local artists DrewJ1ez, Jarova, and Prodigy.

Afroganica also hosted its Hot in Hollywood shootathon at Hollywood Beach. The activation gave models, photographers, and fashion creatives an opportunity to network and create beachside content using curated designer looks from the MCMG network.

The event concluded with a runway showcase on June 1, featuring four swimwear brands: Oma Swim by Afroganica ’26 Creative Director Onyeka Deborah, Bella Craze with the “Nude” Collection, JamRock Clothing USA, and guest brand PresHere by Gabrielle Popo from St. Lucia. The showcase also included live performances from Queen Culver and Mike Fate.

Hosted by Gabriela Maldonado and Ace Simms, Afroganica stood out as more than a Swim Week event. It was a celebration of culture, collaboration, and visibility for emerging designers and creatives. The platform also supported Eco Ed Impact Corp, a South Florida nonprofit focused on sustainability programs and projects for Afro-Latino communities.

In a city known for fashion, music, beaches, and cultural fusion, Afroganica brought an organic and inclusive energy to Miami Swim Week. This is consistent with the creative momentum we covered at Miami Swim Week 2025 — reminding everyone that the future of fashion belongs to the creatives bold enough to build their own stage.
