International recording artist Flo Rida welcomes fans with a VIP party on South Beach to introduce his new song “Hello Friday”. The provided entertainment was surely enjoyable with music by DJ Reflex spinning records from 2008 off his album “Mail On Sunday” along with a mixture of songs from his protégé Natalie La Rose who was also present at the event. For the special event TGIFridays had a special menu that included two cocktails “Florita” and “Hello Friday”.
As of now, FloRida has surpassed Eminem on Hip-hop #1’s chart; his popular song “My House” being number one. With so many great accomplishments FloRida was honored on June 3, 2014 when Mayor Oliver Gilbert of Miami Gardens (Carol City) presented him with the Key to the City. He was awarded for his endeavors through his Florida Youth Football League and various programs coordinated through his Big Dreams for Kids Charity. Creativ Mag had the opportunity to be a part of the first anniversary of FloRida Day (March 26). Both artists took pictures with fans and enjoyed TGIFs delectable food.

What or who inspires you to make each track?
Every song is different; sometimes its old music from back in the days that inspire me, sometimes it’s a feeling, listening to the beat inspires me to write something so it’s a different situation every time.

When you’re not traveling or performing, what do you like to do in your free time?
Well I live in Miami; I love to hang out on the beach which is right next to my house. l like to play the piano come up with ideas and if I really have time I like to watch TV shows love Orange is the Black and Homeland.

Do you ever go back to your hometown (Netherlands, Amsterdam)?
I actually do, I do more since my music has been out because it gives me the opportunity to go for a show or whatever and it gives me the chance to see my family as well.

How was it performing at the Latin American music Awards last year (2015)?
That was one of the most fun performances that I’ve done. We did the Spanish version of “Somebody”, I got to sing a little bit of Spanish as well which was really cool. We used some of the choreography that I made for the song and incorporated it in the show I think it was really dope.

Subsequently, I caught up with FloRida at the set of his “Hello Friday” music video, on Watson Island behind Miami Children’s Museum. After a few takes everyone took a break to relax and freshen up for the next scene. Finally got to see the man of the hour and ask him about his success:

How do you feel about “My House” being #1 on the billboard?
It lets me know that you can never fail with team work, I definitely thank God for the team that I have around me and the fans that have been loyal since day one who love to party and have a good time. Most importantly the fact that my mom always taught me if you dream big to be something, give positive energy towards anything you can accomplish. To see myself at the magnitude of where I’m at now almost one hundred million records sold, it’s just a blessing, I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

When can we expect the video to your latest new single Hello Friday?
Hello Friday video maybe in the next three weeks you will see it, shout to my boy Jason Derulo we shot the first half in L.A which was phenomenal. Now we’re in sunny South Florida where its hot you see I’m sweating to death. (Laughs) Here on the set with friends and family and I’m just looking forward to having it number one video just like My House was. Shout out to my director Alex we’ve been having number one videos since he joined the team.

What can we expect from you this year?
Nothing but hits hits hits, you should expect a great album right now the EP My House, and I’ll be dropping another album in June. I want to give a shout out to TGIFridays whos joined the team and helping support me as well as making the song the official TGIFridays song and WWE who just embraced every record I put out this year. We’ve been fortune to go more than double platinum on every single that we’ve put out. A big thank you to Mayor Levine who came and showed me a lot of love just as the first time when he presented me with my day.
In conclusion, it was noted that the city of Mimi Beach acknowledged FloRida’s hard work and continued inspiration to unite millions of fans around the world and contribution to Miami Beach that in March 26, 2015 he received proclamation from Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine at the Miami Beach Centennial Concert as Flo Rida Day. It’s only going getting bigger and better and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the following years.
