Following Oolite Arts’ BIG reveal yesterday (architectural renderings for its new $30 million arts campus), we are thrilled to share that Miami’s leading arts nonprofit is accepting applications starting today, April 13, for The Ellies, Miami’s Visual Arts Award.

Now in its fifth year, The Ellies is one of the city’s most noteworthy funding opportunities for Miami-based visual artists and K-12 art teachers. Those interested in applying for a share of $500,000 can do so online at TheEllies.orgApplications will be accepted through 6 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022.

At the conclusion of the 2022 awards season, Oolite Arts will have invested a share of $2.5 million to over 200 individual artists and art teachers in Miami-Dade County via The Ellies. The Ellies is named in honor of Oolite Arts’ late founder Ellie Schneiderman, a visionary who, nearly four decades ago, had the foresight to turn vacant storefronts on Lincoln Road into artist studios.

To learn more about The Ellies and the applications process, Oolite Arts is hosting a series of information sessions and virtual office hours. Register at TheEllies.org
