The inaugural PARAISO Fashion Fair closed out with a literal bang last night at Sports Illustrated’s swim search runway show at W South Beach. Smoke-effects and DJ sets separated three sets of looks plus a performance by Justine Skye, with fresh face Mara Martin as the stand- out star of the night, breast-feeding her 5 month old baby girl as she strut the catwalk. The SI runway show’s onsite casting was led by SI’s Swim issue Editor, MJ Day and veterans Christie Brinkley, Hailey Clauson, Kate Upton, and Kate Bock, all supporting the brand’s dedication to body and cultural inclusivity
With a curated collection of runway shows, industry panels, pop-ups and parties, PARAISO united the best of swim and resort in Miami during what was formerly known as Miami Swim Week, highlighted below for you. The narrative of collaboration, inclusivity and body-positivity was carried through almost all activations. Some overarching trends and themes included both high-waisted and Brazilian cut swim bottoms, sports-inspired suits and color-blocking.
