Over 1,500 people flocked to the Loews Miami Beach this past weekend for Miami Swim Week by Planet Fashion, one of the biggest productions of this year’s Swim events. Showcasing over a dozen designers who presented runway shows to debut their upcoming swimwear collections, the Planet Fashion shows also featured lively performances, breakout local & international designers, luxury labels and celebrity sightings.
Show producer and CEO of Planet Fashion, Celia Evans opened the night on Friday with the Antigua Collection and closed with the infamous Roberto Cavalli — known for his namesake label and lavish prints.
The evening was complimented with with high-energy performances that keep the party going. On Friday, July 13th, American Idol Top 10 finalist Michelle Sussett performed Zedd & Marren Morris’ top Billboard #1 hit “The Middle” before the anticipated Roberto Cavalli show. On Saturday, July 14th, Chris Vanny of the television show The Four got guests, including Miami Dolphins star athlete Andre Branch, on their feet dancing to his rap performance; while model, comedian and Bad Moms actress Eugenia Kusmina had everyone laughing.
On Friday & Saturday, Planet Fashion presented a showcase of emerging designers that featured brands including Lascana, an off-shoot of the swimwear powerhouse Venus Swimwear, and breakout Australian label LaHANASWIM who drew attention with their trendy high-leg and high-waisted suits and retro white sneakers paired with tube socks.
