Designers, Sinesia Karol, Jonathan Simkhai, Destination Colombia, and LILIANA MONTOYA Swim debut their Resort 2022 collections at PARAISO Miami Beach swim week throughout Miami Beach at venues like Joia Beach Club and the PARAISO Tent.
The excitement at each event returning to in-person, full capacity fashion shows and presentations after a long year and a half apart has brought palpable electricity to Miami, alongside some remarkable styles leaning into the 2022 spring collections. Noteworthy media, influencers, fashion icons, and celebs adorned not only the events, some even made it on the runway!
Sinesa Karol brought elegant silhouettes to both her resort and swimwear pieces, marrying both light pastels, flowy florals, and asymmetric forms to many of her most striking pieces. Noteworthy guests that attended the Sinesa Karol kickoff dinner (Wednesday 7/7/21) were Camila Canabal, Karen Martinez, Irma Martinez, Angie Landaburu, Stephanie Hill, Christie Ferrari, Kelly Saks, Meñody de la Fe, Danielle Knudson, Celine Farrach, and Ex miss Colombia Taliana Vargas.
Jonathan Simkhai presented a truly modern take on the classic swim and resort forms. Adding subtle yet provocative cutaways and adding refined touches, like cap sleeve swimwear, to his vibrant vintage color palettes. Also striking is a subtle tropical pattern boldly enhancing his 2022 collection, quite possibly making its way to every woman’s resort wardrobe wishlist. Click here to see more.
DESTINATION Colombia returned to the runway with a collection of talented Colombian designers like Q Swim, Palmacea, Naranja Furcado, Ancora, Bahama Mama, Smeralda, Mar De Lua, & Mola Mola. Bold colors, wavy patterns, detailed hand stitch work, and flowy forms grace the PARAISO Tent for the return of this iconic show. Noteworthy guests that attended DESTINATION Colombia (Thursday 7/8/21) included Rachel Bogo, Cosmopolitan Fashion Editor – Tira Urquhart, and Viacom / BET Fashion Director – Joy Corrigan.
LILIANA MONTOYA swim also returned to the PARAISO tent with a very memorable show and collection, Gaia. The collection showcased a strong Tulum vibe with lots of swimmable crochet, most pieces in warm earth tones along with white and black sets. The Gaia collection is a sustainable swim collection touting 100% recycled materials and reversible swim pieces (both 1 and 2 pieces). Noteworthy of this show, Liliana Montoya both opened and closed the show, kicking off Gaia by walking in her own show. Guests also remarked that global Latin music sensation Maluma’s aunt, Yudy Arias, graced the runway. Also in attendance, Gossip Girl revival star Daniel Patrick Ellis, Fashion Designer Jasmine Stewart, Instagram Influencer Erin Nicole, Fashion Model Bunny Zingler, Latin Actress Celines Toribio, Model and TV host Liliana Duque, Maluma backup dancer Megan Mullin, Fashion Model Gabriella Katia, and Naked Species designer Joy Corrigan.
