Art is the expression of self and Art is changing, the newbies certainly do not hide the way they feel. RAW definitely never disappoints by bringing to light the best and the brightest when it comes to finding emerging artists. On April 21st was RAW Miami’s SIGNATURE show at Revolution Live. The best impression I have ever had was to be surrounded by art throughout the venue. We’ve had the privilege of talking to a few of them while making our way around it:

We took the time to talk to Kizzy and she told us something interesting about her art: While usually artists are looking for their craft to become their whole reason to live and make money, Kizzy reassured us that her love for her art should remain a hobby or else she would cease to love it.

Her photography was extremely detailed and the most interesting piece was the man snorting what seams to be powdered drugs, however what was written on his homemade snorting tube was the letters “NO”. It was an ode to Miami, the crime and violence fed by drugs, which somehow found its way in our culture.

While roaming the room, we got stopped in our tracks by the sounds of CRONOS, a rapper from Miami. His sound was so captivating that we needed to share it with the rest of the world. Look out for his interview in our next issue :

This next artist specializes in portraits, her art is so detailed that you can actually recognize some of her subjects. Her name is Karla Mendez  and the her style is predominantly  pencil based. We wouldn’t want to reveal all her secrets but she is surely talented:

Have you ever seen a pattern and known exactly where it was from? Such was the case of the art of Maya Amina She explained that her patterns actually had meaning, they came from tribes originated from Ghana Africa. Her technique was to duplicate those patterns and create the art that you see before you. We call it genius!

Stef Silva’s voice is absolutely magnificent, take a listen for yourself:

This next piece by Libni Lozano is pretty interesting. As you can see the chains being broken from the woman’s neck represent positivity and the chains being held by the masked man represent negativity. It’s all about breaking away from the negativity that surrounds us. We just thought it was beautiful:

Last but not least we met with Cassandra White a passionate photographer who actually draws on her photos thus creating a unique masterpiece, in this next piece she drew the face of Erykah Badu one of her favorite artists.
