Melky Jean presents the Carma Foundation’s 12th Annual Geminis Give Back Extravaganza

Grammy Nominated singer and Songwriter Melky Jean will host what has become one of the entertainment industry’s most anticipated events of the year, The Carma Foundation’s Geminis Give Back Event. This year is the 12th anniversary for Jean’s nonprofit whose mission is to measurably improve the health of poor and vulnerable women and children in the Caribbean and inner cities of the United States through action, dialogue, and change.

Annually, Ms. Jean opts to forgo gifts for her birthday and instead prefers to ask that her
celebrity friends, family, and the community donate to the Carma Foundation. Jean’s
selflessness and humility has not gone unnoticed and her efforts have garnered her support and the prestige and recognition from various organizations. Every year, Geminis Give Back is memorable. Last year featured athlete Ray Lewis’ inspirational opening prayer, Wyclef Jean and Jason Derulo’s epic performance, feather-clad dancers in bejeweled costumes, Caribbean drummers, handmade cigars, silent art auction, and fine Caribbean cuisine. GGB 2018 was the talk of Miami, and this year will be no different with special performances and a carnival theme!

Nestled in the prime section of the city, this year’s event will be host by the foundation’s own Melky Jean alongside her celebrity friends Super Model Tyson Beckford and Azia (BET’s Hustle in Brooklyn) and will take place at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek at 6 PM with a star-studded red carpet hour. This year’s honorees will include Former NBA player John Salley, NFLer Jonathan Vilma, Miss Haiti Universe Sarodj Bertin, comedian and entrepreneur FatBoy SSE, Fran McDuffie, and Rebecca Noble. Typical to form, a “who’s who” are expected to be in attendance for this years’ event with people flying in from all over to support Melky Jean’s mission. Raz B from the popular boy band B2K and VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop L.A. along with Actor and Recording Artist Kallee Brooks, NFL greats O.J. About Melky Jean Melky Jean aka Melky Sedeck is a GRAMMY nominated Singer and Songwriter, Author, Director and Humanitarian who happens to be the younger sister of Fugees founder Wyclef Jean. Melky has written for artist like Sinead O’Connor, Regina Belle and many others. Jean’s distinct vocals can be found on artist like Carlos Santana’s album “The Shaman”. Her own personal successes as an artist, has enabled her to tie in other entertainment
personalities to lend their celebrity to contribute. Melky has served as executive producer to a Care for Haiti music project she produced featuring many of today’s international artist like Angelique Kidjo, Sean Paul, KRS1, Talib Kweli and many more. One hundred percent of the proceeds of this album went to the CARE organization.
